The upkeep, though, is genuinely light: squeegee the walls after a shower, clean with plain water or a pH-neutral soap, and every six to twenty-four months — depending on water hardness and how hard the room is used — rub in a fresh coat of diluted olive-oil soap to top up the calcium-stearate barrier.
